Promise Hub within Nakivale

While we have talked about our activities and what we do in Nakivale, there’s always more that can be said about the first community in the world with a Promise Hub.

When we first designed Promise Hub as an open learning environment geared towards uplifting the community it was a part of, it was to find a place that would benefit from everything the Hub has to offer and welcome entrepreneurial education with open arms.

Thanks to Mike Zuckerman, our amazing advisory member, we discovered Nakivale, one of the oldest Refugee settlements in the world, to be the perfect place for the first Promise Hub in the world. The decision to establish the first Hub there came easily once we met Patrick.

Patrick Muvunga Trickpa had been a force for positive change in Nakivale for many years, mentoring and leading projects that enrich Nakivale’s artistic, cultural and entrepreneurial capacity.
